Comincia la nostra avventura. I nostri amici e colleghi Magda, Joanna, Marta e Piotr arrivano in Italia e sono pronti a conoscere meglio la nostra scuola.
Alle 9:00 sono accolti non solo da preside, Dot.ssa Velia Ceccarelli, dal vice Gianluca Vannutelli e dall’intero staff ma anche da un numeroso gruppo di studenti che, diretti dall’insegnante di musica Prof.ssa Lucrezia Palmitessa, eseguono con flauti e voci quattro brani: gli inni polacco, italiano ed europeo e “Don’t break the wall” dei Pink Floyd.
Dopo un tour della scuola, in cui incontriamo vari gruppi al lavoro anche all’aperto, andiamo insieme ad osservare una partita di baskin, organizzata dai prof. Dario Croce e Giuliano De Martino, un laboratorio di tecnologia, condotto dalla Prof.ssa Anna Tomeo, sulle antiche unità di misura e, dulcis in fundo, una lezione di arte tenuta dalla prof.ssa Cecilia Revessi. I nostri alunni reporter di classe ci illustreranno meglio le attività svolte con i loro articoli che saranno pubblicati presto in questo blog (controllate gli aggiornamenti!). Dopo la scuola, incontriamo le autorità locali, il neo sindaco Elena Gubetti e il suo vice e assessore, Federica Battafarano, che ci accolgono nel bel palazzo del Granarone e che sostengono con orgoglio il nostro impegno nel promuovere una dimensione europea dell’istruzione e allo stesso tempo il nostro territorio, così ricco di storia e luoghi di interesse.
Con la nostra guida Emanuele esploriamo poi la Necropoli della “Banditaccia” scoprendo la storia e le tradizioni della popolazione etrusca che fondò l’insediamento cervetrano.
Sole, storia, amicizia, ispirazioni. Siamo pronti a proseguire.
Our adventure begins. Our friends and colleagues Magda, Joanna, Marta and Piotr arrive in Italy and are ready to learn more about our school. At 9:00 a.m. they are welcomed not only by the principal, Velia Ceccarelli and the entire staff but also by a large group of students who, directed by the Music teacher Lucrezia Palmitessa, perform four songs with recorders and voices: the Polish, Italian and European anthems and Pink Floyd’s “Don’t Break the Wall.”
After a tour of the school, in which we meet various groups working indoors and outdoors, we can observe a baskin match, organized by P.E. teacher Dario Croce and Giuliano De Martino, a technology lab on ancient units of measurement, led by Anna Tomeo and, last but not least, an Art lesson conducted by Cecilia Revessi. The students who have in each of the involved classes the role of reporters will better illustrate the activities conducted in their articles that will be published soon in this blog (check for updates!). After school, we meet the local authorities, the newly elected mayor Elena Gubetti and her deputy and alderwoman, Federica Battafarano, who welcome us in the beautiful Granarone Palace and proudly support our efforts to promote a European dimension of education and at the same time our territory, so rich in history and places of interest. With our guide Emanuele we then explore the “Banditaccia” Necropolis, discovering the history and traditions of the Etruscan people who founded the settlement of Cerveteri.
Sun, history, friendship, inspiration. We are ready to move on!

Oggi abbiamo avuto l’accoglienza degli insegnanti polacchi nella nostra scuola, dove le seconde e le terze medie si sono esibite con dei brani al flauto. Verso le 10:00 si è svolta la partita Baskin con la II D e la II F e anche i professori polacchi hanno assistito. Nello scontro ha vinto la II D. La partita è stata molto movimentata ed allegra ed è stata un bel momento di condivisione.

Today we had the Polish teachers at our school and so some of the students in the second and third year performed flute pieces. At about 10:00 a.m. the baskin match was held with classes 2D and 2F and the Polish teachers were also there. In the clash, 2D won. The match was very lively and cheerful and was a good time of sharing.

Oggi alla quinta ora sono venuti a fare visita nella nostra classe dei professori polacchi. Approfittando dell’ora di arte abbiamo pensato all’argomento, e la professoressa Revessi ha proposto Banksy. Banksy è un’artista dello street art ovvero l’arte di strada. Ognuno di noi aveva un’opera di Banksy che doveva presentare a questi professori e spiegare loro il messaggio che mandava. Poi gli abbiamo raccontato il metodo di studio che usa la professoressa di arte, “la classe capovolta”. Questo metodo viene svolto con una piattaforma chiamata “padlet” e si studia benissimo. Spero che a questi professori sia piaciuta la nostra scuola e il nostro metodo di apprendimento.

Today, in fifth period, Polish teachers came to visit our class. We had our Art lesson at that time, we thought about the topic, and teacher Revessi suggested Banksy. Banksy is a street artist. We each had a Banksy work that we had to present to these teachers and explain to them the message it sent. Then we told them about the study method our Art teacher uses, “the flipped classroom.” She publishes all the materials on an online platform called “padlet” and it is very useful to study like this. I hope these teachers liked our school and our learning method.

Oggi durante la nostra lezione di tecnologia abbiamo avuto degli ospiti speciali. Mentre ci osservavano, abbiamo fatto un cartellone su cui abbiamo misurato il cubito, la mano chiusa e la mano aperta, il Police e il piede, poi, appena finito, abbiamo parlato in inglese per conoscersi meglio. Un’ora davvero interessante!

Today, during our technology class, we had some special guests. While they were watching us, we made a cardboard on which we measured the cubit, closed hand and open hand, thumb and foot; then, as soon as we finished, we talked in English to get to know each other better. A very interesting hour!
