Si comincia la giornata alle 9:00 con una lezione di inglese: i ragazzi sono divisi in gruppi e lavorano su tematiche ambientali, guidati da domande predisposte dall’insegnante. Riportano le loro risposte in un documento Word per poi realizzare con l’app Heyzine un flipbook risultante dall’insieme degli elaborati consegnati da ciascun nucleo. Suona la campanella e, percorrendo i corridoi della scuola che hanno il loro nome, come vere e proprie vie di un paese dedicato ai saperi, arriviamo nell’aula di greco dove ci attende l’accoglienza impareggiabile della collega Carmen e delle sue quattro studentesse. Hanno preparato per noi un video in italiano in cui la storia di Ulisse diventa una chiave per potersi confrontare con lo stress che colpisce chi emigra e si trova a vivere in guerra o a doverne scappare per mettersi in salvo. Al termine della presentazione ci aspetta un ricco banchetto con frutta e dolci fatti in casa tipici di Spagna e Portogallo. Dopo un buon caffè servito dalla signora Julia, che, dietro il bancone, ci regala puntualmente il suo sorriso e la sua gentilezza, abbiamo occasione di conoscere il sindaco di Villacañas, Jaime Martínez. Sediamo nell’aula consiliare e apprezziamo molto la presentazione della realtà sociale ed economica del borgo, che ci sembra molto simile a Cerveteri. Per concludere in bellezza, ci affacciamo dalla terrazza da cui il primo cittadino saluta i suoi compaesani, specialmente quando sono riuniti in occasione delle feste celebrate dalla comunità, di cui sicuramente la più importante e sentita è la “fiesta del Cristo della Viga”, che si svolge nei primi giorni di maggio. Torniamo a scuola per un laboratorio di geografia, e dopo un ottimo pranzo in paese, insieme a Resti, Carmen e il referente per la didattica, torniamo a scuola, nell’aula “Althia room”, attrezzata con digital board, portatili e postazioni di tavole rotonde, dove i nostri colleghi ci presentano le caratteristiche del sistema educativo spagnolo, con particolare attenzione alle tematiche di inclusione e innovazione. Un costruttivo confronto, seguito da un’ottima cena alla Cervecería TERE, in cui anche il cibo è servito in base alla salutare logica del ‘compartir’.
The day starts at 9:00 a.m. with an English lesson: students are divided into groups and work on environmental topics, guided by questions prepared by the teacher.
They write down their answers in a document and then use the “Heyzine” app to create a flipbook which is a sum of the works handed in by each group. The bell rings and, walking through the corridors, that with their names are like real streets of a village dedicated to Knowledge, we arrive in the Greek classroom where we are met by the incomparable welcome of our colleague Carmen and her four students. They have prepared a video for us in Italian in which the story of Ulysses becomes a key to deal with and understand the stress that affects people who emigrate and find themselves living in a war or having to flee from it, looking for a safer place. At the end of the presentation, a rich banquet with fruit and homemade sweets typical of Spain and Portugal waits for us. After a good coffee served by Mrs Julia, who, behind the counter, punctually gives us her smile and kindness, we have the opportunity to meet the mayor of Villacañas, Jaime Martínez. We sit in the council chamber and appreciate the presentation of the social and economic aspects of the village, which seems very similar to Cerveteri. To end on a high note, we are photographed, together with Martínez, on the terrace from which the first citizen greets his fellow villagers, especially when they are gathered for the festivities celebrated by the community, of which the most important and heartfelt is certainly the ‘fiesta del Cristo de la Viga’, which takes place in early May. We go back to school for a Geography workshop, and after an excellent lunch in the village, together with Resti, Carmen and the director of studies, we return to the school, to the “Althia room”, equipped with digital boards, laptops and round table stations, where our colleagues present us the characteristics of the Spanish education system, focussing on the issues of inclusion and innovation. A constructive discussion, followed by an excellent dinner at the “Cervecería TERE”, where even the food is served according to the healthy logic of ‘compartir’.
